Ich war auf der Suche nach einem Hund, der bereits schon etwas ausgebildet ist und auch ein gewisses Alter hat, so dass er im Sommer 2026 tatkräftig mitarbeiten kann, bin ich zum Glück auf Melanie gestoßen.
Nach kurzem und unkompliziertem Schreiben konnten wir einen Termin für ein Treffen finden, um uns kennen zu lernen.
Ich wahr sehr begeistert wie Melanie mit ihren Hunden arbeitet und auch was für nette, liebevolle Menschen sie sind.
Schlussendlich konnte ich Artus dann mit nach Hause nehmen.
Es macht richtig viel Spaß mit im zu arbeiten, egal ob Rinder, Schafe oder Ziegen.
Jetzt freuen wir uns auf die 230 Rinder im Sommer auf der Alp.
Und noch etwas zum Schluss: so wie Melanie Artus beschrieben hat, genau so ist er auch.

Als ich zufällig über Melanies Anzeige gestolpert bin, hätte ich nie gedacht, dass ich dabei genau die Hündin finde, die mein Herz im Sturm erobert. Der erste Kontakt war sofort unkompliziert und herzlich – man merkt sofort, dass Melanie ihre Tiere von ganzem Herzen liebt und sich mit viel Fürsorge um sie kümmert, sodass jeder Welpe das passende Zuhause findet. Es ist schön zu sehen, wie sie sich über die weitere Entwicklung freut. Noch nie habe ich eine so herzliche Züchterin getroffen
Trini, unsere Rennmaus auf vier Pfoten, ist einfach ein Wirbelwind aus Geschwindigkeit und Köpfchen. Sobald ich „Los“ sage, ist sie im Handumdrehen an meiner Seite, und mit ihrer schnellen Auffassungsgabe versteht sie sofort, was ich von ihr will – fast, als würde sie meine Gedanken lesen. Sie sucht ständig nach Lösungen, sei es beim Hüten, Fahrradfahren oder beim Spaziergang. Der Spaßfaktor ist riesig: Sie zaubert mir jedes Mal ein breites Grinsen auf mein Gesicht.
Bei so einem tollen Hund kann ich eine Wurfwiederholung in 2026 definitiv verstehen.
Ich freue mich schon jetzt auf alles, was noch kommt ;) . Mit Trini an unserer Seite wird jeder Tag ein bisschen bunter, ein bisschen schneller und vor allem ein Stückchen glücklicher.

Auf der Suche nach einem passenden Ausbilder für meine hochmotivierte Ida und mich Anfänger bin ich auf Melanies Internetseite gestoßen und habe beim Anschauen aller Informationen direkt den Eindruck gehabt, das könnte passen. Die superliebe und unkomplizierte Art bei der ersten Kontaktaufnahme bestätigte sich bei unserem ersten Treffen auf ihrem Hof. Es hat direkt so gut gepasst. Ich bin immer noch fasziniert von Melanies ruhiger, konsequenter Art mit den Hunden, wie unfassbar schnell und intuitiv sie meinen Hund und alle anderen lesen kann und sich in ihrem Training darauf einstellt. Mittlerweile konnte ich sie auch beim Training mit anderen Mensch-Hunde-Paaren beobachten, sie findet so sicher das was jeder braucht um sich weiter zu entwickeln. Besonders wertvoll finde ich ihre offene und ehrliche und trotzdem liebevolle Art Probleme im Umgang und der Erziehung von Ida anzusprechen und Tipps zu geben, was ich ändern soll. Ich bin überrascht, wie viel Ida in den wenigen Stunden schon gelernt hat und gespannt, wie es weitergeht. Obwohl wir 2,5 h weg wohnen werden wir auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Ich freue mich schon auf das nächste Treffen!!

Ich habe aus dem Bonny/Hugo Wurf die kleine Eden bekommen und bin mega begeistert.
Zunächst war ich mega happy eine Züchterin gefunden zu haben die gleich mehrere Hunde hat, die eher seltene Pedigrees und vorallem recht gesunde Pedigrees hat.
Ich finde es super wie viel Herz, Gedanken und Mühe sie in jeden Hund und Welpen steckt. Ob in ihre Eigenen oder ihre Kundenhunde.
Nun habe ich meinen Traumwelpen von Bonny und Hugo bekommen.
Sie ist gerade 16 Wochen jung und ich bin so schwer begeistert von ihrer grundgegebenen Art.
Eden kam bereits mit einer gewissen Grundgeduld hier an.
Mit einer tiefen Sicherheit . Sie war unglaublich souverän, gelassen, freundlich und zufrieden mit sich.
Die Stadtische Umwelt war für sie direkt eine selbstverständlichkeit.
Ihr Köpergefühl ist herausragend und sie hat auch bereits gezeigt das sie auf jeden Fall später ihrem Job nachkommen wird Schafe zu hüten.
Johannes and Uli V. with Border Collies Olaf und Stytch
Wir, Uli und Johannes, bewirtschaften südlich von München zusammen zwei Milchviehbetriebe, mit jeweils ca. 120 Kühen. Wir haben unsere Kühe von ganzjähriger Stallhaltung auf Weidehaltung während der Vegetationsperiode umgestellt. In dieser Zeit haben uns viele Menschen beraten und unterstützt. Uns hat vor allem die Hilfe von den Leuten weiter gebracht, die ihren Job mit Leidenschaft machen und es als mehr ansehen, als einen Job - Das ist bei Melanie der Fall.
Sie hat uns geduldig und nachhaltig den Umgang mit den Hunden gelernt.
So sind die Hunde die besten Mitarbeiter und eine echte Arbeitserleichterung. Zudem sind sie, wie Familienhunde, der beste Freund des Menschen.
Weidehaltung ohne Hunde ist zwar auch möglich, macht aber keinen Sinn!

"Auch mit unserem dritten Hund wieder rundum begeistert!"
Wir sind mittlerweile mit dem dritten Hütehund bei Mel im Training – und das aus gutem Grund! Die Ausbildung am Schaf ist absolut professionell, individuell auf den Hund abgestimmt und dabei immer mit viel Herz und Verstand durchgeführt. Man merkt sofort, wie viel Erfahrung und echtes Verständnis für das Hüteverhalten dahintersteckt.
Unsere Hunde haben sich jedes Mal hervorragend entwickelt, sowohl im Umgang mit den Schafen als auch im allgemeinen Wesen. Es ist beeindruckend zu sehen, wie Mel die natürlichen Anlagen der Hunde erkennt und fördert – ganz ohne Druck, aber mit klarer Führung.

Auf der Suche nach einem neuen Familienmitglied, bin ich glücklicherweise zufällig auf Mel gestoßen. Sie wurde mir von einem irischen Hundetrainer empfohlen. Nach einem ersten Kontakt per Telefon, stand schnell fest, das wir bei Mel genau richtig aufgehoben sind. Ein paar Tage später fuhren wir zu Mel und Rob auf den Hof um unseren kleinen Poldi (Wurf Bonnie und Hugo) kennenzulernen. Rob und Mel konnten bereits nach dem ersten Telefonat erkennen, welcher Welpe zu uns am Besten passt.
Wir sind immer noch begeistert wie viel Liebe und Zuwendung sie in die Tiere stecken. Die Anlage ist so sauber und ordentlich und das mit Abstand von allem was ich bislang von Hundezüchtern und Trainern erlebt habe. Alle Tiere sind super freundlich und sozialisiert. Man wird gleich von Mel, Rob und ihren Hunden so herzlich in Empfang genommen. Wir haben uns gleich wohlgefühlt und auch am selben Tag noch entschieden, dass der kleine Poldi zu uns gehört. Es war nicht einfach nur eine kurze Abfertigung, sondern wir durften viel Zeit vor Ort mit Poldi verbringen um ihn kennenzulernen. Mel und Rob ist es sehr wichtig, das ihre Welpen das richtige und beste Zuhause finden. Mel hat eine besondere Gabe und ein tolles Gefühl mit den Tieren. Sie hat uns ihre Hütearbeit mit einem ihrer Border Collies an den Schafen vor Ort vorgeführt, wo man direkt erkennen konnte, was sie für eine tolle Trainerin ist.
Die Vertragsabwicklung und Welpenübergabe war bestens organisiert und auch das wurde ebenfalls mit viel Liebe und Hingabe durchgeführt. Mel steht uns rund um die Uhr bei allen Fragen zur Seite, was wir persönlich sehr zu schätzen wissen. Bei der Übergabe haben wir eine Mappe mit allen wichtigen Infos zu Futter, Tierarzt, Tagesablauf, Infos zu den beiden Eltern sowie Spielzeug und ein Halsband erhalten. Auch das passende Futter hat sie uns mitgegeben.
Eine bessere Übergabe hätte man nicht bekommen können, denn all das hat uns so gut auf den Einzug des kleinen bei uns vorbereitet. Der Einzug lief problemlos. Es dauerte nur ein paar Minuten bis Poldi sich ganz zuhause fühlte und wir merkten, wie perfekt er zu uns passt. Wir hätten uns wirklich keinen besseren Züchter aussuchen können und möchten Mel und Rob wärmstens empfehlen. Wir danken den beiden, dass sie uns Poldi anvertraut haben und könnten nicht glücklicher sein.

My working dog Nestor helps me at my dairy farm every day. His main chores are, getting the dairy cattle in from the pastures for milking and moving them from pasture to pasture. Working with a Stock Dog ist a huge relief for me.
As a Newcomer 5 years ago, I received excellent support from Melanie.
She taught me the basics of working with stock dogs and cattle and also found me my already started working dog Nestor.

Without Mel, I probably wouldn't have a dog anymore. Now I have two.
Mel is a fantastic trainer, who always focuses on the whole team, dog and handler. She figures out the current level of training and picks them up, where they are. Mel has given me so many useful tips for my every day life with working dogs. My dog "Charlie" was in stationary training at GID Border Collies for 3 months and I joined Mel every week. We both, my dog and I, learned a lot!!
My second dog GID Scarlet comes from her breeding and she´s a dream, not just to work with, but also to have her around. I will never buy a working dog myself, but trust Mel to pick one, that suits me and my business! She has such a good sense for it!

Our Border Collie Fly was in stationary training at GID Border Collies and Mel for 3 months. Already at first contact she was warm-hearted and professional, so we knew we were in good hands rightaway.
During training we were regularly updated about Fly´s learning progress with pictures and videos.
Today we use Fly every day in our cattle breeding facility and she executes commands as if she had never done anything else... I can say, the training has absolutely paid off and has been worth every penny.

Mel not only helps us to work our dogs on sheep and chicken, she also always has an open ear for and tips for smaller everyday problems.
For example, our dogs were water shy... I couldn´t motivate them to go into water to cool off after work. Mel once showed us how and since then they were absolute water lovers!!
At each training session, we get a lot of input from Mel, that we can practice alone as well.Not only does this make our daily work a lot easiwer, but also makes us grow together more and more with our dogs as a team.

In 2018, we werde lucky enough to participate at a sheepdog clinic with Con McGarry at Mel´s ranch. We had some serious problems training our Border Collie. Thanks to Con and Mel, we werde able to steer the training in the right direction that weekend.
Mel has continued to support and train us, for which we are very grateful. Without Mel, we wouldn´t be able to use our dog on our flock of sheep.

Working with Mel is much more than just basic training for my Border Collie.
Mel has such a pasion for working with the dogs, which is not just fascinating, but infectious. I was with her for a few weekend sessions, but also had my dog in training with her for two months.

I can only say good things about the training with Mel. She explains everything in detail and is very patient. The way she handles my Australian Koolie is also great. Mel takes care of each dog individually, doesn´t overwhelm them and you can see this in the overall training progress. I alrady recommended her several times.

Flynn came to me from animal welfare. I´ve always been fascinated b what each breed is bred for . So pretty soon after Flynn understood the work as a working rescue dog, I looked out for an adress to work sheep with him. That´s, when I came across Mel.
I never had anything to do with shepherding myself and therefore no idea about it. After a detailed and friendly phone call, I made my way to Mel. She showed and explained a lot about working with stockdogs and about herding. And of course we worked with Flynn.
I´ve never seen this dog so happy and balanced. So I decieded to come for training on a regular basis to master the task together as a team. Flynn did very well and Mel was abled to work around and with his special effects and guided me to do so as well. We learned very, very much and grew together as a team, thanks to Mel. Due to her knowledge and sensitivity, we were able to achieve a lot. Thank you very much!

To me, Mel is the best dog trainer I´ve ever came across. She has a very good understanding of the skills, both dog and human. She works very individually and brings both, dog and handler, to their best in a great way. I remember my first contact with Mel on the phone very positive. First thing she asked me was what goals I have with my dog, not for pedigree, stuiabililty or anything like it of the dog. I really appreciated this, since I was a complete beginner in herding and working with sheep at that time. At that time my sheep followed the food bucket and it worked as well. But since working as a team with my dog, it´s so much more fun and a lot easier and faster!

I have had an incredibly valuable experience with my dog. Not only does Mel have a deep knowledge of herding and working cattle and sheep, but she also has the rare ability to adapt to the different dogs and their needs individually. Every dog, regardless of their previous expreience and tempereament, is given the right support and motivation to fulfil their potential.
The training methods are clearly strucutred, empathetic and very effective. My dogs made a tremendous progress and the collaboration has been perfect and motivating from the first moment. DTraining with Mel is unique and brilliant. She sees the little things, you wouldn´t think of and it´s these little things that sometimes make a positive difference, when working a dog. We´ve only recently been in training with Mel, but from the first training session on, I was totally amazed at how she adjusts to the dog and picks it up at the level he is at that moment. I was also in tears seeing, how she builds a connection to the dog.
As my Border Collie Sparky is reticent towards strangers and does not want to be touched by them. But he let her touch him straight away and workde with her, as if they´d known each other for a long time.
I´m happy, even knowing each other for such a short period of time, to have foud such a great trainer, who responds to dog and human so great.
We´re both looking forward to the next training session, we can´t wait for it!
